Wholesale ordering that behaves like retail
A B2B wholesale ordering platform where account pricing, credit limits and stock allocation are enforced at the point of order.
Overview
Marketwise is a concept product for distributors whose trade customers still order by emailed spreadsheet, because the web store cannot express contract pricing, credit terms or the fact that stock is promised to somebody else. It puts account-specific price lists, credit position and real allocation into a self-service ordering flow, so a buyer sees their price and their availability rather than a list price and a guess.
Trade customers each have their own negotiated price list, credit limit and delivery terms, none of which a standard storefront can express. So orders arrive as spreadsheets, get rekeyed by hand, and every mistake in that retyping becomes a credit note two weeks later.
We made the account the centre of the model. Price lists, credit position and allocation resolve per account at the moment the basket is priced, so a buyer sees their contracted price and the stock actually available to them. Orders drop straight into the ERP with no rekeying, and an approval step catches anything that would breach a credit limit before it becomes a problem.
