An AI layer that shows its working
A business intelligence and workflow assistant that answers questions from your own documents and always cites where the answer came from.
Overview
Intellia is a concept AI product for operations teams sitting on more documents than anyone can read. It connects to the drives and logs a business already has, answers questions against them, and turns the recurring answers into scheduled reports and automated workflows. The defining constraint was trust: every answer is presented as a structured response with its evidence attached, so a claim can be checked rather than taken on faith. The interface deliberately avoids the endless-chat pattern in favour of a workspace where answers are artefacts you can act on.
An AI assistant that produces confident text with no provenance is worse than useless in an operations context — someone still has to verify every claim, which costs more than the original research. The interface challenge was to make evidence a structural part of the answer instead of a footnote, and to give generated output somewhere to go once it exists rather than scrolling away in a chat log.
We designed the answer as a document rather than a message. Each response carries the sources it drew on, the evidence cards behind each claim, an inline chart when the answer is quantitative, and suggested next steps that can become workflows. A context rail makes it explicit which parts of the workspace the model is allowed to read. Recurring questions graduate into scheduled reports, and approval paths become visual workflows with run history — so the assistant compounds into operational infrastructure instead of staying a novelty.
